How results are ordered: alphabetically by institution, or by most recently checked when you choose that sort. There is no price ranking, because tuition in different currencies, fee categories and bases (per year, per credit, whole program) is not comparable. A program appears under a subject only through a verified link (dedicated degree, major, concentration or documented pathway). A value we could not verify is shown as “not published”, never as “no”. Items marked Sponsored are paid placements; they never change verification or order. Online programs are not counted as physically located in a state or city, and an institution’s location does not tell you whether it enrols students from your country.
Collaborative piano is the discipline of playing with other musicians rather than mainly as a soloist. A collaborative pianist supports and shapes the performance of a singer or instrumentalist, adjusting balance, timing and character in real time. The skill set is distinct from solo piano study, even though both require strong technique.
Programs usually cover song and instrumental repertoire, sight-reading, score reduction at the keyboard, transposition and rehearsal skills. Vocal specialists may work as coaches, helping singers with language, style and musical preparation for opera and song. Pianists also work with instrumental studios, dance classes, choirs and opera rehearsals depending on their path.
This subject differs from piano performance because the repertoire and the working relationship are central. A student might spend as much time listening and responding to a partner as practicing solo pieces. Programs often include language study and diction, because working with singers requires understanding the text being sung.
Award titles. Collaborative piano is most often studied at graduate level, commonly leading to an MM or MMus in collaborative piano, accompanying or vocal coaching, or to a postgraduate diploma. Undergraduate options may appear as a BM or BMus with a collaborative emphasis. Practice doctorates such as the DMA exist in some countries. Names and levels vary by country and are not treated as equivalent here.
On this directory a program is listed under Collaborative Piano only when it is a dedicated collaborative or accompanying degree, a named major, an official concentration or a documented pathway. General piano lessons or one accompanying class do not count.
Requirements differ for every program and instrument. Always check the official admissions page; this directory cannot guarantee acceptance.
Auditions normally include solo repertoire to show pianistic command, plus a collaborative component. Applicants may be asked to accompany a singer or instrumentalist, sometimes with music learned in advance and sometimes with unfamiliar music, and a sight-reading test is common. Some programs supply the partner for the audition and others ask the applicant to bring one.
Panels often look for ensemble sensitivity, flexibility and quick reading as well as technical level. Applicants to coaching tracks may be tested on diction, language knowledge or the ability to play from an opera vocal score. Written theory or aural tests may also be required.
Formats vary by institution and country. Review the official admissions page for repertoire, partner arrangements and deadlines. Nothing here guarantees admission.

Funding in this field often comes through assistantships, since institutions need pianists for studios, classes and productions. Awards may cover part of tuition or provide a stipend in return for playing hours, and scholarships or fellowships may also be available.
Availability, amounts and conditions vary by institution and country, and some students receive partial support or none. Check directly with each program and funding body.
Costs beyond tuition. Possible costs include printed scores and vocal scores, travel and accommodation for auditions, fees for hired partners, and access to practice instruments if the institution does not provide enough rooms.
