About Music Schools Worldwide

What this is

Music Schools Worldwide lists institutions with music programs, the campuses where they are taught, and the specific certificates, diplomas, bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programs they run. For each program we record the official award (BM, BMus, BA, MM, MMus, MA, DMA, PhD, Artist Diploma and locally named titles, never relabelled), the subject and instrument pathways and how the program belongs to them, delivery and study intensity, teaching language, audition and portfolio requirements, tuition, funding and any recognition record. Each fact carries a source and a date.

Institutions, music schools, campuses and programs are kept separate. Accreditation, fees, language and duration belong to the individual program and campus, not to the university as a whole.

What it is not

• It is not a university, an admissions authority, an accreditation body or a talent agency, and it is not affiliated with any. Nothing here guarantees admission, funding, a visa, employment, income, teacher licensure or clinical registration.
• It is not a league table. Our researched selections are unranked, state their criteria and limitations, and cannot be bought.
• It is not an application service. Applications and auditions happen on each institution’s own website.
• It does not cover every program yet. Coverage is tracked by destination and, in the United States, by state; gaps are shown as gaps.

How it is funded

Basic factual profiles are free. The site is funded by clearly labelled sponsored placements and advertising; see the sponsorship disclosure. Payment never buys verification, reviews, editorial recommendations or a place in our selections.
